Artificial Light and its Characteristics

Artificial light has a range of characteristics you should be familiar with. These include:

  • Colour rendering index, or CRI.
  • CCT, Corelated Colour Temperature
  • Efficiency of different light sources. 
  • Photometrics and light distribution

If you are interested in lighting design you may also want to download dialux (www.dialux.com) and try it out. You’ll need to allocate quite a bit of time, and should have experience in using CAD programs.
