Industrial Energy Efficient HVAC Course
The International Energy Agency states that “over the next three decades, the use of ACs is set to soar, becoming one of the top drivers of global electricity demand.” This growth in the demand for HVAC poses two significant problems.
The first problem is energy usage and the resultant carbon emissions. With the bulk of energy used in buildings coming from fossil fuels, carbon emissions will rise with the growth in HVAC.
The second problem is the large investment needed in electricity generation, transmission, and distribution required to power HVAC equipment, particularly air conditioners. Our Fundamentals of Energy Efficient HVAC course focuses on HVAC as used to provide comfortable conditions and ventilation for human occupancy. It addresses a critical gap in energy efficiency knowledge and practice – poor knowledge amongst energy managers and their advisors both of how HVAC systems use energy and their major inefficiencies.
HVAC is a broad area; the course covers heating, cooling, ventilation, and filtration. It identifies common areas of HVAC wastage and provides guidance on practical ways of reducing HVAC energy usage. Since a picture can speak a thousand words, the course is extensively illustrated to better explain the concepts conveyed.
