Roshni Udyavar Yehuda
Dr. Roshni Udyavar Yehuda is an Architect, Academician and Environment Consultant whose core competency lies in energy and environmental design of buildings – Building Energy Simulation; Green Building Certification; Building Physics and Solar Passive Architecture.
Roshni has a Ph.D. in Resource Management on ‘Structural Configuration and Thermal Behavior of Buildings’, SNDT University, Mumbai and a Master’s Degree in Architecture (M.Arch.) from the Academy of Architecture, Mumbai. She is a qualified Master Trainer and Empanelled Expert on the Energy Conservation Building Codes of India awarded by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE)-UNDP-GEF collaboration, Govt. of India (February 2015).
Roshni is the Director and founding principal of Roshni Udyavar and Associates. She is currently President of Institute of Environmental Architecture and Research (IEAR), Mumbai and Co-Chairman of ASSOCHAM GEM Maharashtra Chapter and has served in various capacities on projects and organizations that promote and advocate clean, energy-efficient and environment-friendly architectural programs.
She has travelled widely for professional presentations, lectures and study programs related to sustainable development in 20 countries and has initiated environmental and social projects related to water management, rain water harvesting and sustainable development locally.
As a writer and a professional, she has numerous articles and writings to her credit in various journals and books. At the 34th international conference on Passive and Low Energy Architecture – PLEA 2018, December 2018, Hong Kong, she received the ‘Best Paper Award’ for the paper co-authored with Dr. Archana Bhatnagar entitled ‘Assessment of ThermODrain System on Thermal Comfort – study of an office building in Nashik, India’.
She is committed to local and global sustainability through creative educational and professional initiatives, and appropriate technology, with an emphasis on equity, scientific thought and ecological values.
